At the heart of every story lies a quiet space - a place where its essence remains, leaving room for each person to find their own meaning. The Circle is both the centre and the innermost part of a person: character, heart, and all that is quietly held within. The space at the centre of the circle is therefore left open, inviting each guest to fill it with their own imagination and interpretation.
In Lingering Lore, four elements: Cloud, Lotus, Fire and Moon come together at The Circle. Cloud evokes the realm of folklore and imagination; Lotus represents origin and Vietnamese identity; Fire transforms stories into the language of cuisine; while Moon reflects the passage of time, through which the values of the past continue to be carried forward and linger.
Through Sóno’s lens, seven Vietnamese legends are retold through layers of contemporary flavour - allowing old stories to be remembered, and their lingering taste to remain.

Across generations, old stories have travelled from one telling to the next, carrying with them a sense of origin, compassion, integrity, courage, and faith in what is good.
Lingering Lore returns to these ancient tales with a distinctly Vietnamese sense of pride. The values that shape the Vietnamese character have perhaps never truly disappeared. Like The Origin, the egg-shaped symbol of an essence held quietly within, they endure through generations, preserved and passed from one to the next. Through the language of cuisine, Sóno retells these stories, allowing the past to speak once more and its enduring values to live on in the present.
